Reach Out

I reach out,

and You find me in the dust

And You say no amount

of untruths

Can separate us

Theres a new worship song that seems to be my anthem today.  It’s called Simple Gospel, by United Pursuit, and theres just so much truth for me in the song. It’s so easy today to get caught up in what’s happening around us, and eventually we can end up where we didn’t mean to be.  I used to struggle (and still do) with the thought of having to prove myself.  This could be proving myself to Christ or other people.  I felt like I had to put on a front to show people a good version of me.  But what I love about this song is that it basically states that God will meet you wherever you’re at.  If your in the dust, He will be there.  If your at the mountain top, He will be there with you.  No matter the place your at in your heart, Christ will meet you.  He’s not surprised when you are broken or hurting.  He knows you live in a fallen world and that there are hard times. He wants to revive you and protect you in those situations.  Matt Chandler recently said “God doesn't want you to clean yourself and then come to Him, He wants you to come to Him so He can clean you.”  Our role is to reach out, though. We must go to Him.  You can’t just sit in the midst of your burdens and not do anything.  You have to cry out to Him, and He will come.  I am in a season of this right now constantly having to cry out to Him.  I desperately need Him, in any season, but right now it seems as if I won’t make it each day without resting in Him (which feels like a vulnerable yet awesome place to be at).

I don’t tell you guys this stuff to make me sound better, or more holy, but to encourage y'all.  We must be dependent on God for ALL things.  And we can rest in knowing that He loves holding us under His wing and meeting us where are are at.
